Why are organic foods often more expensive?
Organic farming is usually more labor intensive and can have lower yields than conventional farming methods. In addition, the organic certification process involves additional costs for farmers. However, most people feel that the benefits of organic farming, such as environmental sustainability and the avoidance of synthetic chemicals, justify the higher cost.
